I cannot wait for Modern Warfare 3!
Oh lord, I hope so.
HAPPY LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL AND TRANSGENDER MONTH!
Gay and Lesbian Pride Month is celebrated each year for the month of June. The last Sunday in June is celebrated as Gay Pride Day. On June 2, 2000, President Bill Clinton declared June “Gay & Lesbian Pride Month”. In 2009, 2010, and 2011 U.S. President Barack Obama declared June to be Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month, stating, “I call upon all Americans to observe this month by fighting prejudice and discrimination in their own lives and everywhere it exists.” The month was chosen to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall riots in Greenwich Village that sparked the modern LGBT liberation movement in the United States.
This month is meant to recognize the impact gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex people have had on the world. GLBT groups celebrate with pride parades, picnics, parties, memorials for those lost from hate crimes , and other group gathering events that attract thousands upon thousands of individuals. InterPride, the International Association of Pride Organizers, was founded in 1982 and has grown to encompass pride events around the world throughout the year. Although June remains the primary month for pride events the annual calendar shows events in most months.
LETS SEE IF WE CAN GET THIS UP TO 100,000 BY THE END OF JUNE.
As you have probably already seen, aside from my favorite quote and a picture of my fiance and I, this is the first actual post on my blog and I’m finding it difficult to know what to say to kick it all off again but I’ll give it a shot.
In the About Me section I gave you guys several facts about me, but part of me feels as if that isn’t enough. With that being said, I decided to give you a bit more fun facts about myself!
I work for one of the biggest and the best ISP in Kentucky as a Systems Engineer, working nights (4 p.m.-12 a.m.). Although I miss all of the time I use to be able to spend with my fiance, it’s a fabulous job and I absolutely love it! My fiance works there as well as the Director of Voice Services, but he works during the day so it makes the weekends even better to look forward to.
As I’ve already stated, I enjoy a video game or two every now and then (hehe), but my favorite game of all time would probably be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. I’ll quit for a while to play a different game, but this is one of those games I run back to EVERY time. It’s one of the few games I can play forever without getting bored.
When it comes to music, I do not to limit myself to one genre. I LOVE music. The only music genre I do not enjoy is country and religious music, other than that, I can jam to anything. Of course I do have my favorites, don’t get me wrong! Most of the time, you’ll find me listening to pop, hip hop, indie, among many others. Currently, my favorite musical artist would be Never Shout Never, but don’t worry about knowing my favorite artist because it changes so frequently it’s impossible to keep up with my number one.
This is starting to get a tad bit long, so I’m just going to get down to the point. I want this blog to be more than just a glance on my every day life… I want to change my every day life. I think it’s about time I break away from my addiction and live the way a 22 year old should be living (a responsible 22 year old, that is). I’m tired of spending my days alone playing video games for hours while my fiance is working, I should be hanging out friends (which I rarely do anymore unless it’s a social gathering). I want this blog to show my progress, to help be my motivation when I just want to shut the world out again and zone into a video game, and to be a place where I look to and reflect back on who I use to be and how much better my life gets every day.
